Cornelia Wallis Honchar, P.C.
Tucson Criminal Defense Attorney, Cornelia Wallis Honchar, P.C., will be our speaker on July 15, 2017. Ms. Honchar is a graduate of DePaul College of Law in Chicago, New England College, and La Sorbonne, University of Paris, France. She is a member of both the Arizona and Illinois State Bar Associations.
In her distinguished career, Ms. Honchar served on the Chicago Police Board as a Hearing Officer; as a Deputy Pima County Attorney, Criminal Misdemeanor Division; as an adjunct professor at Loyola University School of Law in Chicago, and was appointed to the Chicago Tribune’s four-member Investigative Task Force, urban affairs.
Ms. Honchar has spoken extensively about legal ethics in various areas including technology and E-mail, client dishonesty, legal malpractice, criminal prosecution, billing practices, and client/lawyer sexual relations. Ms. Honchar has written on ethics in the legal profession for the ABA Journal, and the Chicago Tribune, penned a monthly column titled “Ethically Speaking” for the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin, and contributed to the Annotated Model Rules of Professional Conduct, Third Edition, American Bar Association.
She is the founder, Cornelia Wallis Honchar LifeLink Endowment, University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, Urbana, Illinois (veterinary care for companion pets of terminally ill, indigent aged and homeless care; one of the first programs in the United States. Sophie and Gypsy’s Golden Heart Award: annual prize to graduates for outstanding cardiology studies).
